La bataille

"La bataille" by Louise Hapton is a painting from the 5 years 5 psych wards Series which retraces the hospitalisation and the deep psychotic episode Louise had to go through between ages 12 and 16. 
 
This fight presents two wolves. Two sides. Two entities. The white wolf represents Yuka, a demon that had "taken over" the artist's mind at that time. After a long fight of fives years, Aletheia, the brown wolf, managed to oust Yuka and her protégée (Mary) from Louise's body and mind. Unlike them, Aletheia was a soft, good and kind entity. Yet a fight to death remains bloody, even for a good cause. 
 
In a world where even angels kill, the young artist has learned to remember her past and heal from its trauma day by day through creation. 
 
Today, Yuka, Mary, and even Aletheia are gone. 
And Aletheia is dearly missed.
